Particle physics investigates the fundamental building blocks of matter and their interactions. While the Standard Model explains all available collider based data, there is both cosmological and conceptual evidence for the existence of new particles and interactions not contained in the Standard Model. The identification and description of such New Physics is a central goal of particle physics research.

The group Theoretical Particle Physics at Institute for Astroparticle Physics (IAP) is engaged with various aspects of particle physics both in and beyond the Standard Model. In our research, we investigate models of New Physics and their phenomenology in the fields of collider physics, Higgs physics, flavour physics, and Dark Matter. In addition we perform precision calculations for predictions of the Standard Model which are necessary to unambiguoulsy identify even small deviations from the Standard Model.
